Marilyn Diggs' artwork pertains to the school of Contemporary Realism.   Diggs teaches painting and drawing techniques, as well as in depth studies of the Old Masters in an effort to develop artistic creativity in her students.

Diggs, inspired by contemporary North American artists, teaches techniques learned in workshops by some of the most prestigious artists of the time.  At the Fetchin Art Institute Diggs studied with Mark Daily, Ned Jacob, and Ray Vinella.  Among the strongest influences in Diggs' work is Richard Schmid.

Diggs strives to convey years of studies and experience to her students.


DRAWING AND PAINTING LESSONS


DRAWING
-  Learning visual perception, and artistic creativity through drawing on the right side of the brain.
-  Techniques to build drawings: perspective; auxiliary lines; proportions, shading, etc.


PAINTING
-  Study of basic concepts, such as values, hues, borders, etc.
-  Short lectures, demonstrations, personal attention.
-  Emphasis on painting still lifes and figures using live models.
-  Development of a critical-analytical eye.
-  Development of each student in his or her personal style.
